Strawberry Shortcake birthday

My Oldest girl turned three and we had a Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Party. My sister designed the Invites for me check out her blog HERE! We were supposed to do it outside but the weather was cold and windy. Also, the balloons were supposed to have leaves so they would look like strawberries, but they didn't turn out like I wanted and I didn't have time to change it!

All the kids got to decorate pots and plant Strawberries

I had never had a Monte Cristo sandwich till we moved to our current town. Chedder's Restaurant serves a GREAT ONE! So I decided to make my own!

Ingredients:
Bread (I used French bread sliced thin)
Swiss Cheese
Sliced Ham

This makes up the Sandwich, then you dunk it in the batter:
1 C milk
2 T Flour
2 eggs

Fry the sandwich in vegetable oil till crisp, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve with raspberry jam!

Princess Cake!

I got the chance to make another cake for birthday party! I LOVE getting the practice because it really easy to forget when you aren't constantly making cakes. Its rare for me to whip up some frosting just to practice making flowers on my own time. Im totally rusty but hopefully I can find ways to brush up and get better at my cakes! When I saw the picture in the wilton book, they make it look so much easier than it is...I think they cheat and use royal icing!

C's Shower

We had yet ANOTHER baby shower! This time I made Bottle cookies for favors (next time I won't be so lazy and I'll outline in white with oz. lines and make the nipple its own color because they just looked like glue bottles to me). And I got to make a cute rattle cake, its cute enough but I wasn't too happy with how it turned out, again, due to laziness on my part!

I attempted to make this Hat, but my daughter wont leave it on her head! I just made the pattern up so it was trial and error!

St Paddy's

Like many other families, we build traps the day before St Patricks day to trap our leprechaun. Of course he seems to always get away and his gold turns to chocolate.... so we haven't hit the jackpot yet. We even bribed our little man with mini Irish Drink. This is build out of a outmeal box. This lid is almost cut completely away so that when he goes for the drinks he falls through the center!

Here are a couple treats I made for St Patricks day parties.

The pretzels are dipped in white chocolate first then the other two crossed over each other.

The cute hat idea I got from my sister at her blog. But instead of marshmellows I made brownie bites. They taste better that way, but they look cuter with marshmellows.

Carseat Cover

A friend makes these for all our baby showers, and I just love it! Its one of those DUH things (I guess I might just be behind since I don't shop etsy). My sister is about to have her fifth and last but its never too late right. I had to pick gender neutral colors and patterns because they are waiting to find out! Most people have short straps with velcro, but I just love the bow, so cute and keeps it from sliding around. Can't wait to see my new niece or nephew!

Heart Sandwich

So the girls had a v-day party with lots of food, crafts and valentine exchanging. I was in charge of the adult food. But you still have to keep it fun so I made a heart shaped sandwich
How to:
You can make your bread from scratch if you like but I have never made french bread before so, I took the easy route!
I bought two Pillsbury refrigerated french loaf tubes. Turn into a heart and then simply follow their directions!

Nothing wrong with a easy peezy Valentine!

So I wanted to do something with C that she could make but, she is still only 2 1/2 so it couldn't be TOO complicated. Mom still has to do most the work. However, she mixed, and poured and put the sticks in! I opted for the chocolate melting this year! I think she ate about 1/2 a lb of chocolate when all was said and done.But of course, there is always that person who can just take it one step higher! Next year we can redo the chocolate pops but with THIS flare! So cute, thanks for the idea Julie!

Valentine Wreath

This seems to be a favorite among bloggers! So I decided to join the ranks of many who have made this project. I added one more thing to mine though that I really liked. Here it goes.

Supplies:

Felt
Scissors
Silk pins
Heart Shape

Cute out about 100 3 in circles, (I think mine were closer to 4 I just used a mug)
Then you pin each one on after folding in half and then half again.I also like to make a few small rose bud looking ones to place around it too.Then you just pin them around... no strategy

I got this vinyl lettering free in the mail from Say Anything Expressions. This is the same place I ordered my little girls wall lettering. So in order to put it too good use I took a trip to my favorite Hobby Lobby store, coupon in hand, and bought the glass for $4, and the ribbon at the dollar spot!
I was thinking about filling it with conversation hearts or something...What do you think?
